Matsushima Suzuki Racing

History

Grant Matsushima graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in 1993. He worked on his first race team in 1997, Hardcore Racing, a 9 rider team based in Arizona.

In '98, he started working for Hypercycle, building bikes for Nicky Hayden and Jason Pridmore in AMA competition. He took over running the team for the last part of the season.

Grant went with Jason Pridmore to Yoshimura for the '99-'00 seasons.

In '01, Grant worked for Honda with the Bruce Transportation Group team, tuning for Roger Lee Hayden.

Grant again teamed up with Jason Pridmore in '02 when he worked with Attack Racing tuning for both J.P. and rookie Ben Spies.

Chris "Opie" Caylor hired Grant to be his crew chief for the '03 AMA Season.
Grant also built the motors for Josh Hayes' championship winning Attack Racing campaign.
